Wantage

• Wantage is a typical market town at the foot of the Lambourn Downs, in the south of the Vale of the White Horse and close to the ancient Uffington White Horse itself.
• With the period architecture of a former medieval wool town, Wantage also has the award winning Vale and Downland Museum. This includes the Tourist Information Centre, displays depicting the history of Wantage, plus galleries showing work produced by local artists.
• Above Wantage you can access the Old White Track, called the Ridgeway, which runs from Avebury in Wiltshire to Ivinghoe Beacon in Buckinghamshire.

• Regular bus services from Oxford (St Aldates) and Didcot Parkway Station to the Wantage Market Place
• From Wantage Market Place, take the road to Reading (A417) for about 150 metres (past Waitrose). The Old Yeomanry Guest House is on the left next to the Red Cross Shop
